We have one full-time exempt position available in our Med/Surg department. This position primarily works Monday-Friday and helps cover shifts as needed.

Maintains the standards of nursing care and implements the policies and procedures of the hospital and nursing department. Assures that each patient on the unit has a comprehensive care plan that is individualized to meet his/her needs. Good communication with patients and staff. Works with the Chief Nursing Officer and individual staff to develop educational goals and competencies for all assigned to the unit. Coordinates with Education Specialist to provide education to staff, as needed, to maintain competency for all staff assigned to the unit. Responsible for coordination and planning of the orientation of new staff and the evaluation of their readiness for independent functioning. Remains current in new developments of nursing knowledge in area of expertise through a planned program of continuing education and attendance at facility mandatory in-services and meetings.
A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Currently licensed as a registered Nurse by the State of Minnesota Board of Nursing. Previous experience in Med Surg nursing. A sincere interest in nursing with knowledge in Med Surg nursing. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation from American Heart Association certification with annual renewal. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification preferred. (Certification required within 6 months of hire).
