Overview

We have one full-time exempt position available in our Surgical Services department. This position primarily works Monday-Friday and helps cover shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

Maintains the standards of nursing care and implements the policies and procedures of the hospital and Surgical Services department. Coordinates and supervises nursing care given in the area of OR, PACU, Procedure Room, SDS and Central Processing Services. Assists Anesthesiology in the direct care of patients, equipment needs, and staff reviews. Demonstrates knowledge of aseptic techniques, a familiarity with surgical instrumentation and equipment, and the principles of microbiology as they pertain to the containment of contamination and the sterilization/disinfection process. Able to give direct patient care. Participate in the orientation of new staff and the evaluation of their readiness for independent functioning in tandem with department leads. Responsible for performance evaluations of all staff. Establishes scheduling and revision of staffing patterns as necessary to be in compliance with established criteria. Meet departmental needs.Works cooperatively with the Chief Nursing Officer and other Nurse Managers. Oversees procurement of equipment and supplies in these areas with leads. Assists with the research and evaluation of new equipment and supplies with leads. Oversees the scheduling of surgeries. Ensure compliance with Regulatory standards.

Qualifications

A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Currently licensed as a registered Nurse by the State of Minnesota Board of Nursing. BSN preferred. Previous experience in perioperative nursing preferred. Good organization, communication, and leadership skills. Good role model for REHC Standards of Behavior and AIDET. Current American Heart BLS and ACLS or will be certified within 3 months of employment.

USD $91,249.60/Yr.

Maximum Salary

USD $113,796.80/Yr.
